When a dog changes demeanor and starts licking and biting itself more often than normal, you should be concerned. Observe it closely and check whether there are some noticeable changes. If on the following day its skin gets rougher and there is continuous biting and general discomfort on your dog, it is important you take action. However, before you take any robust action like visiting your vet, check the hygienic condition of the kennel. Check whether the bedding is clean and whether there is evidence of any parasites. Check whether the kennel is damp and after confirming the condition of the kennel is okay, you are a step closer to confirming that your dog is suffering from another skin condition.
Look closely at the skin of the dog. Check whether it has been infested by ticks, fleas or lice. It is important before you even start checking it, recall the last time your dog was treated for such parasites. Check whether it passed through pastures that had irritant plants like thorn apples. Check whether there are swellings or even bruises on the skin. If none of the above is present consider whether you recently introduced a new kind of food that could be causing some allergies on its skin.
In case you confirm your worry when it comes to foods, probably you fed it on a totally different diet, consider feeding it on what it’s used to. Introduce essential fatty acids, proteins and antioxidants like vitamin E on the diet. These serve to reduce the allergy and the itchiness on the skin of your dog. Incase you confirm a problem or maybe all these checks did not bear fruits for the second or third day and the condition of the skin is escalating, consider visiting a vet for check up. Chances are your dog is suffering from a skin condition for instance Dermatitis.

Pit bulls types; these are at least the top most dangerous breed of dogs in the world. They are the most sought after for their terrifying stature, fearlessness and tireless fighting. They are also strong breeds that can attack any kind of intruder and they are also incredibly brave.
German Shepherds; anyone who has ever seen military in action with dogs has seen a German shepherd. It is quite a common breed owing to its trainability, fearlessness and ability to learn, making them one of the best guard dogs.

So you want to buy a new Labrador puppy? Or are you already the owner of one? Training you new lab should take place around the time that it is weaned from its mother; usually around two months. Labradors are very energetic animals all throughout their lives and they should be trained from the early years to avoid unwanted habits. When starting your Labrador puppy training, you should start with something simple. Something like locating his water and food dishes or his sleeping place is a good place to begin. Then you could train him about feeding time, after that you can house train your new pup. A lot can be achieved with small incremental steps.
I first acquired my Labrador Retriever around two years ago; I’ve never stopped training it as much as I possibly can. I feel a real sense of achievement for both me and my dog when I successfully train it a new and unique trick, movement, or rule.
You must also develop consistency with your Labrador puppy training methods, starting with your commands down to your reward and method of praising your puppy. It’s essential that consistency is observed to avoid confusing your puppy. It is also advised to only use positive reinforcement in training your pup because studies show that using negative reinforcement or punishment could cause aggression from your dog since it can interpret the punishment as a threat and react accordingly.
Now let’s start our Labrador puppy training session. Being larger than usual dogs, labs can already hold their bladder at an earlier age so you can immediately start potty training. Crating has had a bad reputation in dog training, that’s because a lot of people use crating as a form of punishment. At the outset of your Labrador puppy training, get your puppy to treat the crate as his safe haven. Never use the crate to punish your lab. The main idea behind crating is that dogs don’t mess up their sleeping area, so you should make the crate large enough so that he can turn and lie down but small enough that he won’t eliminate in one side then sleep in another. During your Labrador’s training period, you should leave your pup in the crate for a short while at first then longer and longer as the time goes on. This would teach your puppy to hold it in if he can’t find a proper place to eliminate.
Another important tool in your Labrador puppy training regimen is the leash. You need to train your lab to go outside right after leaving the crate. Once you open the door to the crate, put a leash on your puppy so that you can lead him to the place that you want him to eliminate in. After he does his business don’t forget to reward him with praise and a treats.
Another very important contributor to dog training is that you use facial recognition of trained methods being completed, and sometimes even by talking to your dog! It may sound stupid to some people, but using facial recognition to congratulate your dog while training Labrador Retrievers is an absolutely great way to encourage it to complete a trained trick or method at a later time.
In Labrador puppy training, the owner and the pet both benefit from the experience. The pet learns skills that are essential to being a good pet; the owner understands the need of his pet; while both of them are growing a bond that could last for years. Labs are very good pets and they are very amiable and well-mannered with proper training.
There is obviously a massive difference is size between a small breed of dog and a giant breed and standing next to each other they can look quite comical.
I have actually seen a few dog owners who have small breeds and giant breeds of dog at the same time which kind of fascinates me. Whenever I speak to them they always say the dogs get on perfectly together and the giant breed always seems to be very protective of the small dog to which I think rightly so. Read more »
